There will be two key things to do at the start of your application:
a) Please complete the online application form and pay the application fee.
b) Send the confidential Learner Reference form* to your child’s current school.
* The Learner Reference form will need to be completed by your child’s current teachers and submitted back to Nexus by email. Nexus will need to receive this form before we can offer places for your child. As this process often takes time, we encourage you to get this step started as soon as possible to speed up your application process.
If you do not wish to notify your child’s school of their departure just yet, this submission can wait but it may potentially delay your child’s placement.

Once the application form is submitted, we will start your application process. We will need a few more important documents to complete your submission for review: Please send us a photocopy or photograph of:
We understand that some of these items may not be readily available, so please prepare and submit them when they are ready. These are for information purposes so the copies do not need to be certified.

Each child is unique with different learning strengths and needs. In the application process, we believe in ensuring that our incoming learners are supported in the individual ways that suit their needs.
We may request consultations like face-to-face conversations, video calls or trial days during this part of the process and it will take about 2 weeks depending on mutual schedules.
4
With the completion of the above, our Head of School will review your application to make the best recommendation for your child.Â
5
An enrolment contract will be sent to you to review and sign to accept your place at Nexus and pay the enrolment fee.

Admission to Nexus International School (Singapore) is open to learners of all nationalities who demonstrate the capacity to benefit from the challenging international curriculum offered by the school.
We do not discriminate against individuals based on race, colour, religion, disability or ethnic background. In instances where learning support would be needed, suitability of each candidate is considered on a case by case basis to ensure that we are able to meet the learning needs of each child.
We may also take into account a learner’s educational and linguistic background in order to fulfil the school’s duty to provide education in the English medium to the International community.
As students join Nexus from countries and educational systems around the world, the exact age requirements for each year group varies. The final decision on the grade level a student is to join will be dependent upon the assessment and/or interview at the time of application and previous school records. As a general rule, students at Nexus fall in the following age groups at the start of the academic year in August:
Normal progression is to the next age appropriate course but discussions happen in Term 4 for learners who may be chosen to move to a different course. Parents can request a course change mid-year but such changes are extremely rare.
In accordance with Singapore law, Nexus may only admit students who are not Singapore Citizens (by either birth or registration). Students who are Singapore Citizens require approval from the Ministry of Education (MOE) before acceptance to Nexus can be considered.
Students who hold a Student’s Pass must also meet the minimum attendance requirement of 90% as required by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). Families should advise the school when children are not able to attend. The school will contact families in the case of unexplained absences.
