COMPETITIVE SWIMMING COACHING

Heading up our Swim Squad at Nexus International School is Larisa Mogutova, our Aquatics Director. Our Nexus Swim Team competes in a series of competitive events every year, ranging from local, such as ACSIS Swimming and Singapore National Age Group (SNAG) championships, to international meets such as European Juniors and World Swimming Cups.

OUR ELITE SWIM TEAM

Nexus International School is proud to offer highly attractive swimming scholarships to eligible talented swimmers, to join our Elite Swim Team in Singapore. Our Elite Swim Team participates in an intensive and comprehensive training programme which involves dedicating many hours in the pool in order to achieve their personal goals in swimming. We go the extra mile to offer personalised programmes for each swimmer as we believe in maximising the potential of each individual swimmer. Our Swim squad athletes train between seven and ten times per week depending on individual needs and physical development. The swimming programme includes land training such as weights, yoga and Tabata (high intensity short training) at our excellent training facilities. The programme is coordinated with a specialist nutritionist and Sports and Exercise Psychologist. Elite swim members are eligible for a free sport package which includes team kit, a daily nutritious breakfast, Olympic swimming clinics and personalised coaching.

OUR SWIM TEAM’S ACHIEVEMENTS

Our Elite Swim Programme has grown impressively and delivered many high performance athletes. In a short time, the programme has produced many National Age Group Champions in Spain, Italy, Ireland, Singapore, as well as National Record holders and two members of the Spanish National Team who participated at the European Juniors Swimming Championship in Helsinki and COMEN Mediterranean Cup 2018 in Cyprus. Nexus has a successful and vibrant swimming curriculum which covers all year groups. This provides each Primary learner with opportunities to participate in one lesson per week as part of the PHE curriculum. The team have cultivated a family within the swim team where everyone is involved, even our parents are infamous in Singapore for their amazing sausage rolls!
